what we are looking for:

Veselica is seeking dedicated performers with a love for dancing and singing. All levels will be accepted for tryouts from amateurs to experienced dancers.

Interest in folk dance is preferred but not a must, all dance styles are welcome.

Auditions will be held every Friday for the month of August 2007.

No Audition fees or Membership fees

Location: Klas Bohemian Restaurant, 5734 W. Cermak Rd., Cicero IL, 60804.

who we are:

Since 1999, Veselica has been contributing to Chicago's cultural diversity with imaginative and renowned performances celebrating the ancestry of Slovakia. Having performed at numerous ethnic, cultural and international festivals in the Chicago area and all around the United States, Veselica has established itself amongst the most recognized Slovak Dance Ensembles in the country.

Slovak folk dance is unique in its own way and at the same time combines
a variety of other folk dances in Central Europe. The dances are
very temperamental and energetic, focusing on a lot of footwork, girl's
pirouettes and men's jumps.
