The competition is scheduled to be held on April 22 – 23, 2006. The venue will be the Rockwell Gym, MIT Campus which is located at 106 Vassar Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

There will be a show by MICHAEL MALITOWSKI & JOANNA LEUNIS (World Professional Latin Vice-champions, World South American Show Dance Champions, and British Open (Blackpool) Grand Finalists). The show will be held on Saturday, April 22nd and tickets can either be purchased in person on the day of the show, or online at: http://ballroom.mit.edu/comp/show.php

Housing will be arranged on a first-requested, first-served basis. All housing inquires should be sent to our housing coordinator at mitbdt-comp-housing@mit.edu by April 14th.

The MIT Open Ballroom Dance Competition is one of the largest collegiate competitions in the country (with over 600 competitors in past years) and has always featured top level competitors from schools around the nation. Our judging panel will include Nadia Eftedal (British Open Professional Latin Champion), Andrew Phillips (British Open Rising Star Vice Champion), Peter Billet (President, USISTD), among others. The MIT Open will also offer all nineteen dances at all levels from beginner to championship.
Ample practice and warm-up space close to the competition floor will also be available.
