MOORESTOWN ARTS ADVOCACY COUNCIL ANNOUNCES 2007 AUDITIONS FOR ˜THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLE'

(Moorestown, NJ) The Moorestown Arts Advocacy Council (MAAC) will be holding auditions May 21 and 22 at 7PM for the summer musical production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. All auditions will take place in the Moorestown High School auditorium, and call backs will be at 7pm on May 24. Interested actors/dancers should be at least 15, with a mature and positive attitude. All levels of experience are encouraged to audition. Singing and dance will be required. Thoroughly Modern Mille will run July 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, and 28. Dorothy Smith "” A charming, ditzy, out-of-touch rich girl 21 – 30 Soprano
Jimmy Smith "” Millie's macho and charming love interest. 21 – 35 Tenor

Synopsis:
Set in New York City in 1922, ˜Thoroughly Modern Millie' concerns a young girl from Kansas who comes to New York in search of a new life for herself. Her grand plan is to find a job as a secretary for a wealthy man and then marry him. However, her plan goes completely awry. The owner of her dingy hotel kidnaps young girls to sell to the Far East; her wealthy boss is slow in proposing marriage; and the man she actually falls in love with doesn't have a dime to his name – or so he tells her.
