Anyone know? I'm usually pretty good about identifying languages, but can't figure out what the lyrics to this one are in... sounds like it's probably something african (perhaps in a carribean varient) but that's only a guess...

Actually, it is what is generally known as 'pig latin'. IN other words, he just makes up sounds, and not in any particular language. I think long time ago I've heard/read the interview with him.

I think if it was sung in pig latin, it'd have a totally different sound to it.

You're probably right - however there is always the chance that it's in say the french equivelent of pig-latin. I was once taught something like this for disguising russian - forget the transformation they used, but it was a fairly simple one, and I have some vague recollection about hearing about a similar trick in german. As a result, I wouldn't be suprised if nearly every langauge has something like this...
