I know this is not related to dance at all, but I figured that dancers may have a good deal of experience researching event venues, so I thought it was worth a shot.

I'm throwing an engagement party for a friend in NYC. The problem is, I don't live there, and I don't know the city at all. So in looking for a location to throw the party, I don't even know where to start.

It's on a Sunday afternoon, and money is tight.
