Could anybody verify the price of a used, sponsored Arthur Ashmore tailsuit? somebody is trying to sell his sponsored Ashmore suit for $5,000, Does this sound reasonable?
I remember seeing on this website a brand new Ashmore suit cost only $2,000. Would somebody help verify the price?
Thank you.

Hi gingersnap, That seems unreasonably high. A new suit by a top Ballroom Menswear designer can range anywhere between $1400 to $2000 as a base cost and depending on fabrics selected. At $5000 (you might want to recheck if they meant ... $500 and typed in an incorrect amount). The only way the $5,000 could be justified is if it is owned possibly by a "top" name-recognized competitor and the added value is the fact you can state you own something by this "celebrity" person. It might even one day be a collector's item ... it would take a while to recoup back. If a person doesn't care about that, then usually, you would "depreciate" from the retail price of the suit, depending on how long he has worn it, and compare to similar suits offered, and exactly what you are doing now, comparing the retail price of a "new suit".
