I'm mainly a lindy hopper. The thing is, when I tell other dancers this, they say something like "that's the one with the kicks, right?" Others will point to things like lindy hoppers sticking their butts out.

This isn't how I would describe lindy hop. I think the key aspects are the rounded swingout and the loose feel, but that's just me. How would you guys describe the different swing dances? Here's my two cents-

west coast- very controled, very cool and smooth
shag- crazy footwork, and a distinctly Southern look
balboa- very close, perfect for fast music
hand dancing- haven't seen much of it yet...
