It's mind boggling to me why one lousy spelling error is causing such an uproar.
It wouldn't surprise me, Dancingkid !!! Let them change this place to a forum just for the English Majors instead of ballroom dance forum. No wonder everyone posted as a "anonymous" anymore. Shame on Egoist, Joe and Ithink.....
Two conditions under which one's arguments will not taken seriously are poor spelling and shoddy grammar.
Actually, make that three conditions: you can add posting anonymously to the list.

He he he, my spelling is generally incorrect, somewhere. Particularly if you take into account the differences in spelling between the US and UK.

"a forum just for the English Majors instead of ballroom dance forum"
I wouldn't dignify them as English Major. They are a bunch of proofreaders. They read piles of manuscripts under magnifying glasses day in and day out, year in year out. You can imagine how small thier minds can grow.

Oh, I thought a small mind is one that cannot wrap itself around remembering the spelling of simple words like "their"... Silly me Seriously though, if you want to be taken seriously, as Joe pointed out, at least read over what you wrote before you hit post. It's a bit difficult to read gibberish when you are expecting a normal adult discourse. Just a thought coming out of my small mind

In this online ballroom dancing community, many dancers were not born in the U.S. Therefore English would be their second language. If you can not write in a foriegn language as well as they can English, you should not critisize their English writing ability. It is the dance ability that counts. Let's give them a break and go back to dance related subjects.

Keh, DancingKid has claimed to be from an old American family stretching back to the time of the Civil War. Therefore, he's more American than I am -- my family has been in this country for less than 100 years. So while I agree that it's not nice to pick on foreigner's English, DancingKid is hardly a foreigner and I think sometimes he does it on purpose just to be funny or obtuse.
