Tap dancing has a long history, with its roots in black slave dances and Irish step-dancing. You’ll find more information about the history of tap here but better still why not do your own research, it’s fun and you’ll always find something new about tap dancing.
My philosophy on tap dancing is simple. Master the basics and you’ll be set for life. By the basics I mean all those tap steps with ‘one’ sound. Remember the most complex tap combinations when broken down are all single sounding steps!
With focus and practice you can be a great tap dancer. Come along to one of my classes and have a go!
